First of all, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you! A little late I know, but to my excuse I just got back from my Christmas holiday. To make up for the lazy Christmas I’ve had, I’ve been really productive now, launching a new site and relaunching a older one with a new design!
I really love animals, and especially dogs, therefore one of my main niches when it comes to domains and development is the dog niche. It´s not the best paying when it comes to cost per click, and there is often a lot of competing sites on Google. But one of the things I do like is that it´s relatively easy to rank good for exact matching dog breed domains, and the various dog breeds often has good search volume. I currently own a few, it´s not exactly GoldenRetriever.com or any other of the most well known breeds, but still quite nice in my opinion! By the way, if you happen to own a dog breed domain that you wish to sell, don’t hesitate to contact me with your asking price!
One New Site and One Redesigned
Yesterday I launched a site for the Griffon Bruxellois breed. This is a site that I’ve been working on for a couple of days now. I must admit that it´s currently a work in progress though. I’ve designed the site myself, and I think and hope that this is a design that will work great both for visitors and search engines. Since I’ve done it all by myself it´s very easy for me to adjust it to the way I like it. The landing page still needs some attention, and there is more sections to be added as well, but it´s coming in a few days.
Apart from that I also relaunched my Appenzeller Sennenhund site. As you can see it uses the same template as the Griffon site. The reason for that is that I’m building up a small network for my pet sites, but to keep this post short enough I’ll get back to that later!
What do you think of this setup? Feel free to leave your feedback, good or bad, here in the comment section!

Niche, niche, niche, niche! That’s exactly what this brings to mind! You’ve chosen a niche and are focused on developing it. This is what domaining is all about. The great thing about it is you enjoy it! Who could ask for anything better. I checked out both breeds on google and your sites are returned on the first page.
You are definitely onto something with this. My only advice would be to approach advertisers directly. Dog breeder’s and animal shops would be more target. Great job! Do you have a listing of all the pet domain names you own? Would love to see them!

Jason, thanks alot for your comment! And congrats on being the first one ever to leave a comment on OFJZ :)
I’ve thought about contacting some advertisers directly. But I’ll let the sites get indexed in Google properly before doing so. Just have to figure out a reasonable price for it as well. Being on a very limited budget, I don’t own many great domains. When it comes to dog breeds except from the 2 above, and the just launched ManchesterTerrier.info (22.000 exact searches/month). I also own Mucuchies.com and CharlesSpaniel.com (not the best ones, but they do get above 1000 and 2000 exact searches at least). I also run TerrierGrooming.com and TerrierInfo.com and own a few other “Terrier*****.com” names that is coming up soon.

I like the design of the sites…. clean and appealing.
